Shaun Juniper, joint managing director of the Juniper Development Group won’t have any time to relax when he heads to SPA-Francorchamps, Belgium for the Circuit De Spa Total 24 SPA endurance race held over July 31st to 3rd August 2008.
Drivers Max Twigg, Craig Baird and Rodney Forbes will join Shaun to complete the Juniper Racing Team which is racing for the first time at the prestigious SPA event.
Set amongst the magnificent scenery of the Ardennes, the 7 kilometre track is considered one of the most challenging race tracks in the world where speeds of up to 330km/h can be reached. As a result, SPA is a favourite circuit for many drivers and fans, its fast, hilly and twisty form ensures there is never a dull moment...... more
Making its debut at the Merkeda Millennium 12 Hour Endurance Race in Sepang, Malaysia in August, the brand new Juniper Racing Porsche 911 (Type 997) GT3 RSR is one of only 35 hand-crafted in Germany.
A race-only model built specifically for GT Championships and sports car endurance racing, the 997 RSR can hit top speeds of 300kph and 0-100kph in 3.2 seconds. With a 7% increase in efficiency over its predecessor, it is no wonder Shaun immediately fell in love. "After I did the Nurburgring (where he drove a Porsche 911 Type 996) and saw how good the RSR was, I was sold."
Shaun Juniper, joint managing director of property developer Juniper Group finished fourth overall at Dubai’s Toyo Tires 24-Hour Race last weekend, with his four-man Juniper Racing team also snaring third in their class in their Porsche 911 (Type 997) GT3 RSR.
The Juniper Racing Team were unceremoniously taken out of the Nürburgring 24 hour endurance race on Saturday 24th May 2008, when the engine of their 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (type 997) blew up in the 10th hour of the gruelling 24 hour race.
Shaun Juniper, joint managing director of Juniper Development Group, said he and fellow drivers Boris Said, Max Twigg and Warren Luff had successfully qualified 19th out of 280 cars to compete on the 20.8 kilometre 'Green Hell' Northern Loop, and the 4.5 kilometre Grand Prix Circuit, at the demanding Nürburgring 24 held in Germany last weekend.
"Warren was driving and we were 9th position at the time when the engine blew up in the 10th hour. The team had a best result of 6th overall and our best lap time was 9:01.882 which was great. Obviously the team were very disappointed we couldn’t finish the race. The engine blowing came as a complete surprise as it was a newly rebuilt engine by Porsche Weissach, Germany. It wasn’t anyone’s fault, just a mechanical problem and unfortunately that’s the nature of motorsports," said Shaun..... more

Entering its sixth season, Carrera Cup Australia is one of eight International Carrera Cups contested around the world. With a championship in Germany, Asia, Great Britain, Japan, France, Scandanavia, Italy and Australia, Carrera Cup has developed into the most successful ‘one make’ sports car motor racing Championship in the world.
This year up to 25 of the most talented and dedicated drivers from Australia and New Zealand will pilot Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 997) cars in an eight-round national Championship at the finest motor racing circuits and events in Australia.
In 2008 Carrera Cup Australia - the primary support category to the V8 Supercar Championship Series - will be the only support category to feature at the biggest motorsport events on the calendar, inlcuding the Clipsal 500, the FORMULA 1™ ING Australian Grand Prix, Phillip Island 500, Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and the Gold Coast Indy 300.
With a top speed in excess of 300 kilometres per hour, the lightweight, high performance vehicles have a 400 horsepower, 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, which revs to a maximum 8400 RPM - producing a sound that is distinctly Porsche.
And vitally important for Carrera Cup Australia is the television coverage. In 2008, the championship will be broadcast nationally as part of the V8 Supercars Championship Series coverage on Channel Seven and will have its own dedicated program featuring highlights from the previous rounds. Carrera Cup highlights will also be shown on Fox Sports and on internet TV station Joost TV.
So strap yourself in and prepare for an exhilarating ride in 2008, as Carrera Cup Australia continues to excite drivers, team members, sponsors, media and fans worldwide.

Queensland Raceway Motorsport Day - December 2006 Juniper clients and staff were treated to a hands on experience driving in race prepared BMW 120s on the track and against the clock in a motorkhana circuit. The highlight of the day was the opportunity to be a passenger in a 400HP Porsche Carrera Cup racing car for hot laps around Queensland Raceway. See the hot lap movie. Coupled with some fun activities off track and a gourmet BBQ, visitors were given some insight into the world of competitive motorsport and some high octane action!
During the course of the year, Juniper will host special events in association with its racing calendar.
